In a tightly contested NL West showdown, the Rockies vs Dodgers game on Friday night delivered exactly what fans hoped for dominant pitching, timely hits, and a nail biting finish. May, returning to form after a stint on the injured list last season, looked every bit the ace the Dodgers hoped he would be. He threw six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and striking out seven in a commanding performance. “It felt great to be back out there with a full rhythm,” May said postgame. “My job was to keep the team in it, and the defense really backed me up.”
On the other side of the Rockies Dodgers matchup, Antonio Senzatela showed grit, navigating through five innings of work. He allowed two runs on six hits, striking out four. Despite the loss, Rockies manager Bud Black praised Senzatela’s outing. “He gave us a fighting chance against a tough lineup. That’s all you can ask for on the road.”
The scoring opened in the bottom of the third when Mookie Betts drove in Gavin Lux with a sharp single to right. Max Muncy followed up in the fifth with a solo homer off Senzatela, giving the Dodgers vs Rockies game its second and final run.
